” Mardi Gras - French for Fat Tuesday, the age before Lent begins - traditionally has been a Broad daylight of merrymaking and partying. Bill Thomas, one of the owners of Royal Oak-Based Pronto, calls the annual Mardi Gras Festival a “mini-version of Bourbon Street without the parade.” The Royal Oak Restaurant Association sponsors the event, now in its fourth year. This year, guests’ $15 alms will Promote the Royal Oak Animal Shelter.
